Shops/Leisure in Los angeles
It is slightly unfair of critics of Los Angeles to label her a cultureless city.
Shopping remains a primary activity for the majority of Los Angelinos of all wallet sizes. Theres always something for everyone, from the boutiques of Rodeo Drive and Beverly Hills , to the knock-offs and novelties of the tourist shops along the Hollywood Boulevard .
The Beverly Center , one of the citys largest malls, situated in West Hollywood , offers a mid-range option. Melrose Avenue specialises in boho chic, with the occasional record shop punctuating outlets for self-designed clothes and jewellery.
Though considered the home of the movies, L.A. boasts considerably fewer cinemas than New York , and even fewer art-house cinemas. That said, both print quality and sight lines tend to be superior here than almost anywhere else.
